Sean Callander October 12, 2008 4:40 AM Well the party is over, we have crowned our champion, Kiwi Daniel Craker, and now it is time to reflect on yet another great event from the Asian Pacific Poker Tour. With satellites and side events running from 20 May in the build up to the Main Event of the 2017 Auckland Poker Championships, just under1,000 people participated in the tournaments. 100 people would take the field for the Main Event starting on 2 July featuring fantastic local talent such as Sarah Saifi and Jamie Sadlier alongside.Skycity Auckland Poker Tournament Schedule 2019

Locals have always been able to keep the title on home soil. Can a Kiwi do it again? Daniel Craker walked away with NZD$257,040 and the champion’s trophy, and New Zealand’s first and only World Champion Simon Watt was able to work his way through a tough field to claim victory and NZD$209,000. It was then the turn of local music producer Danny ‘Brotha D’ Leaoasavaii who won NZD $170,000. In 2013 Geoff Smith was victorious winning NZD$80,502.VENUE
